China Seen Differently

A landscape to feel.
A place to understand.

Xinjiang is too large to experience well as a checklist. This journey gives the Ili and Sayram Lake chapter time to breathe, then uses a planned flight connection for Kashgar rather than pretending everything is a short drive apart. Landscape days sit beside food, craft and locally hosted encounters, with room to listen as well as look.

Unveil Signature Experiences

The moments that make it yours.

Experiences designed around your private party, with the people, setting and pace chosen to suit you.

01

A lakeside table, properly placed

A private picnic or simple outdoor lunch at an approved lakeside location, timed around the weather and the day’s route. Leave the landscape as you found it.

02

Craft, with the person who makes it

A hosted encounter with a working artisan in Kashgar, shaped around their availability and practice. A demonstration and conversation carry more meaning than a rushed shop stop.

03

A kitchen, a story, a shared table

A private regional food experience with a local culinary host: explore ingredients, watch or join a cooking session, then eat together. Participation and photography are arranged with consent.

Your final proposal confirms the hosts, locations, timing and inclusions of each signature experience.

A considered rhythm

The journey unfolds.

A suggested route, ready to become something personal. We shape the final sequence around your dates and interests.

  1. Ürümqi
  2. Ili & Sayram Lake
  3. Connect to southern Xinjiang
  4. Kashgar
  5. A considered departure
Days 1–2

Ürümqi

Arrive, settle in and explore the region’s geography and cultural context through a museum visit and an introductory food experience, subject to opening arrangements.

Days 3–6

Ili & Sayram Lake

Connect west and make a comfortable base for lake and grassland days. Keep the route compact, with private transport, room to walk and time for a lakeside meal.

Day 7

Connect to southern Xinjiang

Use a scheduled air connection to Kashgar, with routing confirmed for your dates. This transfer is part of the design, not a day hidden inside an unrealistic road itinerary.

Days 8–11

Kashgar

Explore architecture, food streets and working craft with local guiding. Dedicate an unhurried day to your signature food or artisan encounter, leaving other time for personal discovery.

Day 12

A considered departure

Depart through the confirmed air route. Optional extra nights extend one region rather than adding every distant attraction.

Stay a little longer. Choose northern Xinjiang only for a shorter journey, or discuss a separate Altay/Kanas extension. A Pamir or border-area extension requires its own access and route assessment.

The art of staying well

The right room.
The right sense of place.

Comfortable city accommodation and the best suitable regional stays for the route, with property eligibility for foreign-passport guests checked in advance. Rural stops prioritise setting and facilities over a blanket five-star label.

Tell us whether you want a shared king bed, separate rooms, a view to wake up to or a particular level of privacy. The details belong in the design from the beginning.

Travel with your people

Luxury that feels personal.

A private celebration, a good table for two, a local night out or simply the freedom to enjoy the journey together. Let us know what would make you feel most at home.

Before you go

Good journeys are well considered.

Pace & terrain

Long regional distances, some substantial drives and a domestic flight connection. Prefer fewer bases with enough nights in each to enjoy them.

Things we plan around

Regional access, security checks and hotel eligibility affect the itinerary. We review current conditions and the advice relevant to your nationality before confirming arrangements. Carry the required travel documents; some sites and photography locations may be restricted.

Current reference: UK travel advice: Xinjiang. Requirements and operations are rechecked for your dates.

A clear individual quote

Choose the stays, guiding, private transfers, intercity travel and experiences you want us to arrange. Your proposal names the booking and operating parties and sets out the price, inclusions and exclusions.

International flights, visas, permits, insurance, personal spending, ski equipment and lessons are included only where expressly listed. No payment or booking is confirmed by sending an enquiry.
