A conversation in colour
A private introduction to Tibetan painting in an artist’s studio, with a demonstration or hands-on session shaped around the artist’s practice.

Chengdu · Western Sichuan · Lhasa · Gyantse
Two chapters of the Tibetan world: the villages and valleys of western Sichuan, then the art, architecture and immense skies of central Tibet.
Make it yours →China Seen Differently
Begin in Chengdu, follow a measured western Sichuan chapter and return to a gateway connection before travelling to Lhasa. Central Tibet becomes its own considered journey, with time for art, courtyards, religious heritage and the road towards Gyantse. The result is a cultural passage with mountain landscapes woven through it, rather than a race across the plateau.
Unveil Signature Experiences
Experiences designed around your private party, with the people, setting and pace chosen to suit you.
A private introduction to Tibetan painting in an artist’s studio, with a demonstration or hands-on session shaped around the artist’s practice.
A specialist-led exploration of architecture and religious art, with enough time to ask questions and a quieter tea stop built into the day.
A private landscape lunch at an authorised location when conditions allow, followed by a slow return rather than an overpacked sightseeing day.
Your final proposal confirms the hosts, locations, timing and inclusions of each signature experience.
A considered rhythm
A suggested route, ready to become something personal. We shape the final sequence around your dates and interests.
Begin with food, a museum or a studio and time to discuss the journey. Your guide helps connect the region’s geography with the cultural encounters ahead.
Choose a compact Danba-focused valley and village chapter. Avoid loading every famous mountain into the same short stretch; the selected route prioritises the pace of the whole journey.
Return to the agreed gateway and connect to Lhasa by the transport specified in your proposal. This is not advertised as an unrestricted cross-border road expedition.
Settle into a gentle schedule, then explore Tibetan art, the old city and key heritage sites with authorised local guiding. Monument visits depend on access and reservation arrangements.
Where permitted, travel towards Gyantse and Shigatse, with a Yamdrok Lake stop if conditions allow. Return to Lhasa for onward travel; extra nights create flexibility.
Stay a little longer. Spend the extra days in Lhasa or simplify the Sichuan chapter. A shorter Lhasa-based version is possible to discuss.
The art of staying well
A high-comfort Chengdu base, characterful Sichuan lodges and carefully chosen Lhasa accommodation. Room category, heating, facilities and regional standards are addressed explicitly.
Tell us whether you want a shared king bed, separate rooms, a view to wake up to or a particular level of privacy. The details belong in the design from the beginning.
Travel with your people
A private celebration, a good table for two, a local night out or simply the freedom to enjoy the journey together. Let us know what would make you feel most at home.
Tell us your idea →Before you go
A high-altitude itinerary with road travel and flexible rest days. The final sequence depends on your requirements, permits and local conditions.
Tibet access is separate from general China entry permission. For foreign-passport guests, permits and a locally organised guided itinerary must be arranged through the appropriate operator; approvals and regional access can change. We confirm eligibility and the final route before booking.
Current reference: UK travel advice: regional access. Requirements and operations are rechecked for your dates.
Choose the stays, guiding, private transfers, intercity travel and experiences you want us to arrange. Your proposal names the booking and operating parties and sets out the price, inclusions and exclusions.
International flights, visas, permits, insurance, personal spending, ski equipment and lessons are included only where expressly listed. No payment or booking is confirmed by sending an enquiry.
Your dates. Your people. Your China.
Tell us what draws you here, and what you would love to come home remembering.
