Ni-chome's biggest event club — a flexible LGBTQ+ space hosting drag, DJ and themed parties across a main and sub floor since 2012.
AiSOTOPE Lounge is the largest dedicated event space in Shinjuku Ni-chome, open since April 2012 and built to be a kind of cultural laboratory — the name riffs on "isotope", the idea being that all sorts of people and scenes collide here to spark something new. Rather than a fixed bar, it's a programmable club with a main floor and a separate sub-floor, so two different parties can run on the same night, and the calendar swings from drag showcases and DJ nights to lesbian parties and fan-culture events themed around particular artists.
That event-led model means the crowd and vibe change completely depending on what's on, so it pays to check the schedule before you go — this is the room for a proper big night out rather than a quiet drink. It welcomes all genders and sexualities and regularly draws LGBTQ-friendly performers and celebrities. As the district's go-to large venue, it's where many of Ni-chome's headline parties and community events land.
