The Red House's beloved terrace bar: cracking mojitos, people-watching and one of Taipei's best weekend drag shows.
Café Dalida is the heart of the Red House square's gay village and, for many, the place to start the evening. Open since 2006, it spills onto a leafy outdoor terrace that's made for cocktails and people-watching, and it's famous for its mojitos and cocktail list. With a DJ on the latest beats and a mixed local-and-visitor crowd, it strikes that easy, boisterous balance between buzzy and welcoming.
It's also one of the city's premier drag venues, with hilarious shows at weekends; the owner, Alvin Chang, performs in drag as Alibudha and is widely called the godmother of Taipei's drag scene. Hours run Sun-Thu 19:00-03:00 and Fri-Sat 18:00-04:00. Grab a terrace table, order a mojito and watch the Red House fill up around you.
