★ Young multi-club nights
Six-storey nightlife complex inside Fuxing Park; the queer crowd gathers at Culture Club on the fourth floor — big, friendly, pop-driven and refreshingly free of hookup pressure.
INS — 'Into Nothing Serious' — is the giant six-storey nightlife complex set right inside Fuxing Park, and as of 2026 it's the city's main commercial clubbing destination: bars, several clubs, a KTV, restaurants and even a 600-seat esports arena, busy seven nights a week and rammed at weekends. A night here means riding floor to floor — celebrity hip-hop club, techno room, student dance bar, upscale cocktails. INS as a whole isn't a gay venue, but it houses the one you want.
Culture Club, on the fourth floor, is the de-facto hub for Shanghai's queer and queer-friendly crowd — it bills itself as 'for everyone' and is the largest gay-leaning club by local standards. The vibe regulars describe is safe and smiley rather than sleazy: bouncy pop, a packed floor, plenty of women keeping the energy fun, and the freedom to just dance without the hookup pressure. Shots are cheap, and both local and international cards are accepted. It runs Friday to Sunday only, 10pm till 5am, so plan your big night for the weekend. Easy to fold into a bigger crawl given everything else under the same roof.
