Short version: Beijing has a handful of long-running gay saunas, mostly near the central districts. They’re relaxed and easy to use once you know the basics. Check our Beijing page for the current, verified list.
The scene
Beijing’s sauna scene is smaller and more discreet than its bar scene, but several venues have operated for years. Most are clean, locker-based bathhouses with steam, showers and rest areas. They’re busiest in the evenings and at weekends.
Etiquette & tips
- Bring cash; many venues are cash-first.
- You’ll be given a locker and towel on entry — follow the lead of regulars.
- Hours shift and venues occasionally relocate, so confirm before travelling across town.
- Keep your passport with you — it’s needed for hotels and sometimes asked for elsewhere.
