In addition, China has been offering a number of incentives to Taiwanese tourists, such as visa-free entry for up to 15 days and discounts on airfares and hotels.

The influx of Taiwanese tourists has had a positive impact on China's economy. According to the China Tourism Academy, Taiwanese tourists spent an estimated 40 billion yuan (US$5.9 billion) in China in 2019. This spending has helped to boost the tourism industry in China, particularly in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.

In addition to the economic benefits, the increase in Taiwanese tourism to China is also having a positive impact on cross-strait relations. As more and more Taiwanese people visit China, they are gaining a better understanding of the country and its people. This is helping to break down stereotypes and build trust between the two sides.

Of course, there are still some challenges to cross-strait tourism. One challenge is the lack of direct flights between Taiwan and mainland China. This makes it difficult and expensive for Taiwanese tourists to travel to China. Another challenge is the political sensitivity of cross-strait travel. Some Taiwanese people are concerned about traveling to China because they fear that they will be treated as second-class citizens.
