Day 1: BeijingI arrived in Beijing, the sprawling capital of China, this morning. The city is a vibrant tapestry of ancient history and modern progress. After checking into my hotel in the heart of the city, I ventured out into the bustling streets. I visited Tiananmen Square, the world's largest public square, and marveled at the grandeur of the Forbidden City, the former imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties. As the sun began to set, I made my way to the Great Wall of China, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a breathtaking panorama of Beijing's skyline.
